4 Air Fryer Tips from a Pro Chef
It seems like everyone’s abuzz about air fryers these days, and for good reasons: they’re quick to use, easy to clean, and help food get crispy without extra oil. We recently hopped on the air fryer train with loads of new recipes that utilize this magical kitchen tool. Check out these tips from our very own recipe developer, Chef Molly, to make your air fryer cooking as tasty as possible.
- Preheat your air fryer
This one may seem obvious, but adding your food to an air fryer that’s already warmed helps everything cook more evenly. Luckily, air fryers heat up more quickly than traditional ovens, so you shouldn’t have to wait long.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket
It can be tempting to toss everything in at the same time, but leaving some space in the air fryer basket is the key to getting your food crispy. Try cooking in multiple batches for max tastiness.
- Give it a toss halfway
Make sure that you flip around your ingredients part way through the cooking process. Mixing up the basket exposes each little nook and cranny to the heat, for even, crispy, cooking.
- Second oiling is key
We recommend greasing the bottom of your air fryer basket before adding any food so nothing sticks to the bottom, but a second oiling helps everything become golden brown and crispy. Try spraying or brushing with oil halfway through cooking for the tastiest possible results.
